I finally found it! I picked up a book years ago at a bookstore and thought it was the awesomesauce. I didn't buy it and I never saw it since...until today.

The good thing about the zombie apocalypse is that it's only going to happen in the US.

It's like those giant reptilian monsters that never attack any city other than Tokyo.

Large-scale ecologic disasters and advanced alien civilizations are only likely to destroy easily-recognized European monuments, the Opera House in Sidney and, maybe, the Pyramids and the Taj Mahal.
