1. Name RL/Toon:  David Lloyd / Joar

2. Lvl/Race/Class:  lvl 80 Undead Warlock

3. Spec (if not 80, what spec currently and spec you plan on at 80):  2/13/56 destro

4. Professions:  Tailoring (443) and Enchanting (425) - oh and Cooking is around 415 or so - but I'm working on that!

5. Age: 39

6. Which server are you from:  Drenden

7. Prior Guilds & why you left? (list them all even if on other servers):  Kitten Soup - left because it was definitely evolving from a more casual guild to a serious, progression oriented hard core raiding guild.

Honor Guard - looking to leave because there has been a significant change in attitude there over the last six months or so.  I'm an officer there, so this is particularly hard for me.  All of the original founders have actually voted with their feet and left already.  I joined Honor Guard after KS because it was a fun group, very casual, focused on helping other guild members and having a good time while doing a little bit of raiding in the process.  Has become very competitive and nasty.  Obsession with gear and dps meters.  There really isn't much in terms of other guild activities unless you are a member of one of the core raid teams.  Even finding groups to run heroics with is almost impossible now because most of the core raid members already have all their badge gear and aren't willing to help some of the younger folks out.  I do what I can, but most folks aren't too crazy about running with a bandage spec warlock for healing or using a voidwalker to tank a heroic!

8. What Time Zone are you in?  Eastern

9. Do you wish to raid with us?:  Yes.  Sort of.  I'm a pretty casual raider though.  Very serious when I'm actually signed up and ready to go - but not someone who is looking to raid 7 nights a week.   There are actually a very limited number of nights in a given month where it is possible for me to do a raid - particularly if it's going to be something that goes till past midnight - really only have availability from 2-4 evenings per month.  That being said - I still really enjoy doing Naxx runs etc with those evenings when I have them.

10. If yes, then what times are you available to raid?:  Friday and Saturday nights are generally best - usually twice per month.  Also good during the day on Saturday and Sunday mornings (but I've yet to find a guild that raids then!).

11. What kind of guild are you looking for?:  I'm looking for a friendly, helpful guild.  People that I can have fun with and enjoy getting to know.  A guild where I can do some raiding, but where my absolute life doesn't have to revolve around that extra point of spell dmg.  A guild where people still play WoW because it's a game and it's fun.  I'm also looking for a guild that increases my enjoyment of the game rather than adding to my stress level.

12. What do you expect from joining Project X?:  I expect to meet a lot of great new people.  I expect it will take a while to get to know everyone.  Would like to do instance runs with some of the officers and other guild members.  I'd also like to get involved in some of the more fun guild events.  I'm a pretty high level tailor, enchanter and cook, so don't mind taking some sort of role within the guild using those skills.  I tend to be very analytical and organized, so willing to help out with admin stuff where needed.

13. What can you offer as a member of Project X?:  Well - as a warlock, I can offer solidly mediocre dps!  (lol) - along with a new summoning phone booth and plenty of healthstones!  I'm also a pretty decent level tailor and enchanter and am always available to do free enchants or to make bags for folks etc.  Also used to be a pretty decent cook and am working on leveling that post expansion.  Been working on Dalaran Cooking awards every day so I can start stocking the guild bank with good raid buff food!  I'm also working on a Death Knight (now level 70) a resto druid and a prot pally.

14. Do you know anyone in Project X?:  I've seen a lot of you around and have done the occasional pug runs with a number of different Project X folks.  Ajamazon used to be in HG, so I know him relatively well.

15. How did you hear about Project X?  Mostly from seeing you guys around and then checking out the website.  I'm also responsible for updating the various guild ranking websites for Honor Guard, so I've seen you up there above us and been able to track the progress of your core raid group!

16. Is there anything else you want us to know about you?:  I hate to admit it, but I've really been enjoying playing my Death Knight.  ("Hello, my name is David, and I enjoy playing a Death Knight"..."Hello David"..."I was clean and sober and Death Knight free for about two months, but then....")  Death Knight is Tormal - level 70 Orc DK.

I'm married, live in Columbus, Ohio (but not a Buckeyes fan - just moved there from Baltimore about 2 years ago and not fully brainwashed yet) and have 3 children - all boys - ages 1, 3 and 12.

I have updated the application above that was submitted by my son and would ask that you keep in on file for when you reopen your recruiting.  Many of the issues that were in the original application about my current guild continue to be true and have only been amplified by the recent rash of /gkicks.  I'm looking to be a part of a guild where I can have fun with the game.  If I wanted to be frustrated, saddened and annoyed, I'd spend more time at work.

Thanks for all your time.  I hope you'll consider my app when you reopen your recruiting.  I'll continue to hang out in xrecruit to chat when possible.

Thanks!

Well, I have to admit that I'm a bit confused now.

First you wanted to join.  We had a dps spot open up so we invited you after little over a week of talking and doing runs.

The next day you said your son put in the app and he was the one we were talking to all along, so you left.

Now you want to join again?

I guess I don't understand why you left Project X in the first place if you actually did want to join from the beginning.

We can talk more, but I wanted to express my confusion.

Same here.  You were in the guild so not sure why you left to apply again.

Also... if that application was created entirely by your son, and you would want to be the one to join the guild, I would suggest completing the application yourself, not refiling what was mostly completed by your son...... Cheesy

I can definitely understand why I've got you all confused.  The application was written by me.  My son just went ahead and took what I was working on in a word file and posted it. (I wasn't entirely done with it when he did, which is why I've edited it)

I guess my son thought he was doing me a favor because he knew how unhappy and frustrated I'd gotten with my current guild, but also knew that given the time I'd invested, I'd be very unlikely to actually do anything about it myself.  I'd actually started checking out other guilds, including Project X, back in December, and had started to write the app for Project X.  I think he figured I'd be happy that he went ahead and did it for me while I was gone - and if I had stopped to think about it for a day or two like I should have, I clearly would have been.

But my initial reaction was just shock at coming back from my trip and finding my guild chat full of unfamiliar names instead of some of the people that I was looking to say hi to and find out what had happened while I was gone.  My immediate reaction, and probably not the best one, was to fix it, rather than to take the time to figure out what had actually happened.

I'm still definitely interested in making a move to Project X, but obviously understand if I just carry too much baggage at this point.  I still do believe that I would bring a great deal to the guild and would be a valued member.  But I'm sorry if I've just wasted too much of your time at this point for that to work.  I have really enjoyed getting to know all of you a little.

Kindest regards,

David / Joar

I'm not sure if you guys are even still considering my re-application, but wanted to let you know that I've also brought one of my alts (actually my original main) over to the Drenden server.  He's a lvl 80 holy pally geared out in full T7.   The character's name is Karman.  Here's the armory link:  http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Drenden&n=Karman.

(I haven't respecc'd him post patch yet - so talents might look weird)

I also finally managed to get my DeathKnight all the way to 80.

I went ahead and joined the xrecruit channel with Karman as well in case you were wondering who that was hanging out in your chat channel.

Thanks,

David / Joar/Tormal/Karman

Thank you for letting us know.  It is helpful when trying to figure out who's in the xrecruit channel.
